This is a self-paced learning path consisting of 11 courses that go through the bare basics of getting started with ArcGIS Pro and CrescentLink, working through the tools that you will use to create a digital record of your physical network, and ultimately run through various scenarios for reporting and troubleshooting issues within your network. You will have 6 months to complete and pass all 11 courses and earn a Certificate of Completion for this learning path. Upon purchase you will automatically be enrolled in Lesson 1, while enrollment in each subsequent course will automatically occur upon completion of the previous course. Lesson 1: Introduction to ArcGIS Pro & CrescentLink Lesson 2: Work Order Management Lesson 3: Fiber Cable Management Lesson 4: Splice Points & Connectivity Lesson 5: Managing Network Equipment Lesson 6: Cable Counts & Esri Labeling Lesson 7: Path Network Management Lesson 8: Additional Cable Management (risers & slack) Lesson 9: Build Your Own Network Lesson 10: Project Estimates & Staking in Project Planner Lesson 11: Outage Management & Troubleshooting If you prefer that GEOGRAPH invoice your organization instead of paying via credit card through the store, please reach out to your GEOGRAPH account representative to begin that process. A coupon code will be provided, which will allow you to "purchase" the course for free. Read more
Introduction: In this course, you'll learn how to customize symbology in ArcGIS Pro using a variety of techniques that apply to both user-defined layers and those within the CrescentLink geodatabase. We'll cover how to symbolize features uniformly or based on attributes using Single Symbol, Unique Values, and Quantity-based symbology options. You'll also explore how to create and manage multiple symbology configurations on the same feature class to support different analytical needs, all without altering the underlying data. By the end of this course, you’ll understand how to tailor your map’s visual presentation to better support your workflows and enhance data interpretation within your ArcGIS Pro projects. This course utilizes the CrescentLink for ArcGIS Pro Training Resources dataset. If you do not already have this dataset, please click the resource link to download it to your computer. Topics Covered: Various types of symbology Single Symbol Single Attribute Multiple Attribute Value Category Utilizing multiple copies of the same feature class to accomplish different analytical needs Recommended Table of Contents management Additional symbology configurations Read more
Introduction: This is the stand-alone version of lesson 1 out of 11 in the CrescentLink for ArcGIS Pro Learning Path. The purpose of this first lesson is to introduce us to CrescentLink and the ArcGIS Pro platform, as well as help new users get set-up and get comfortable navigating the platform. Lesson One is brief relative to the rest of the course, and combines the Walkthrough and Exercise modules, while omitting the Spot the Issue module entirely. This course utilizes the CrescentLink for ArcGIS Pro Training Resources dataset (Download here). If you do not already have this dataset, please download it and use the project within throughout this course. Topics Covered: CrescentLink Overview Toolbars and Quick Access Configuration Editing Windows Basic Map Navigation Read more
Introduction: This is the stand-alone version of lesson 2 out of 11 in the CrescentLink for ArcGIS Pro Learning Path. Often, network management work begins with a work order, specifying what additions or changes need to be made to the network. CrescentLink provides the ability to automatically track and report on network features based on the work order that they are assigned. This course outlines how to create, manage, and edit your work orders using the Work Order Manager tools. This course utilizes the CrescentLink for ArcGIS Pro Training Resources dataset (Download here). If you do not already have this dataset, please download it and use the project within throughout this course. Topics Covered: Work Order Manager tools overview Creating and managing work orders Troubleshooting common issue with work orders Read more
Introduction: This is the stand-alone version of lesson 3 out of 11 in the CrescentLink for ArcGIS Pro Learning Path. Because the basis of all network connectivity is derived from the correct attribution and collection of cables, placing cable is a fundamental building block of CrescentLink Network Manager. This lesson reviews how to use Esri's native drawing tools to create and edit features based on fiber cable templates that are loaded in by default in the CrescentLink training data. It will also show you how to attribute the data associated with each feature so you can begin keeping track of all the vital pieces of information in your networks. Finally, this lesson will show you how to create your own feature templates, to reduce the amount of time spent duplicating work. This course utilizes the CrescentLink for ArcGIS Pro Training Resources dataset (Download here). If you do not already have this dataset, please download it and use the project within throughout this course. Topics Covered: Fiber Cable as a feature Feature Templates Introduction to Esri drawing tools for line features Adding and editing vertices in an existing line Read more
Introduction: This is the stand-alone version of lesson 4 out of 11 in the CrescentLink for ArcGIS Pro Learning Path. Fiber optic cables alone do not provide a comprehensive view of your network. Splice points within CrescentLink enable the creation of connections between cables and equipment, allowing for detailed tracing and reporting of every circuit within the network. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date data is essential for network design, performance optimization, cost analysis, and maintenance planning. To address these needs, CrescentLink is designed to model the equipment and fiber requirements of an evolving cable network through its splice point capabilities. This course utilizes the CrescentLink for ArcGIS Pro Training Resources dataset (Download here). If you do not already have this dataset, please download it and use the project within throughout this course. Topics Covered: Splice points as a feature Workflows for creating and using splice point features CrescentLink Connector tool Viewing network connectivity & generating splicing documentation Read more
