ArcGIS Pro: Toolbar Configuration

Introduction:

This course provides a comprehensive overview of the interface customization options available within ArcGIS Pro, with a focus on improving workflow efficiency through thoughtful tool organization.  Learners will explore two primary customization methods — the Quick Access Toolbar and custom ribbon tabs — and will be guided through hands-on walkthroughs covering how to add individual tools, existing tool groups, and custom tool groups to both.  The course also covers important nuances such as managing tool placement, resolving duplicate tools, understanding the behavioral differences between persistent and contextual tabs, and knowing when an application restart is required for changes to take effect.  Additionally, learners will learn how to export and import customization configuration files, enabling consistent tool layouts to be shared and applied across an entire organization.  By the end of this course, learners will have the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to build a personalized ArcGIS Pro environment that reduces ribbon navigation, minimizes workflow interruptions, and supports a more efficient day-to-day working experience.

No special downloads or project files are required for this course. Toolbar configuration settings are stored locally within your ArcGIS Pro installation rather than within individual project files, meaning any existing ArcGIS Pro project can be used to follow along with the hands-on portions of this course.
